An astonishing story...

...from an old photograph. A really old photograph. This is a five-part story from film maker Errol Morris. Start at the beginning, with the discovery of the photograph in the hands of a dead soldier at Gettysburg.

That bridge again

It's time for more boring facts about the Hell Gate Bridge! The bridge, seen here in an old black and white photograph taken from the north (the Triborough, or Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, is visible behind it), is 1017 feet long... but the entire bridge length, including approaches, is 3.2 miles, constructed on viaducts which reach considerable distances into both the Bronx and Queens.
